Will the Real American, please stand Up

In a world today, where many face Identity issues, being American, is kind of a religious statement. One must know, there are four kinds, of Americans out there, or risk being taken in, by a faux pas American. You have, Americans, Americanos, Americaines and Americanistas. Each is unique, in their own way, and one must know about each of them, or risk humiliating oneself, by saying dumb or stupid things, thinking its American. For instance, you do not say, "You sound American", to an Americanista. It denotes, pretentiousness, that they do not know, what they are. You don't say, "So, lets get the party on", to an American; they find that crude. So, how do you identify each? I will show you below.

Americans:

Americans, are the folks, who reside, in the Southern regions, of the United States of America. They're kind of serious folks, and don't entertain, too much tomfoolery. They know how to size people up, and its not easy, getting through to them. You have to take the time, to know them. Americans, will help you, when you need the help, but, will not endeavour, to help you, with their stuff. Cool American stuff. Cindy Crawford, is an American. One might attempt, to woo an American woman, and not know where to start. American women, are not like other women, around the world. One must know, that the thing, that American women appreciate most, is intelligence. Most people, think, its humour, not knowing, that Americans in particular, have a biting sense of humour; they are real funny, but most people don't know this. They identify with the American flag, but secretly and hiddenly, strongly, with the Confederacy flag, which is a symbol, of Southern culture.

Americanos:

Americanos, are the folks, you find, in the Northern States, of the United States of America, and of Yankee Doodle fame. They are a kind of gregarious folk, and always ready to put a smile, on ones face. They don't know much about people, but unlike Americans, do know much about where people come from. They might not know you, but might know, the name of your president, mayor, and even the high school, you went to. They are always ready, to meet you, but do not actually take the time, to know you. The great thing with Americanos, is that, they will readily lend you, their stuff; "Take your time, just don't break it", is what they will say, when you attempt, to borrow their TV. Americanos, however, unlike Americans, will not readily help you out. They will want to really know you, before they do. Winona Ryder, is an Americano. Americano women, more than anything, desire a man, with humour. They do not appreciate intelligence, as most think, as they themselves, are pretty intelligent. They very strongly identify, with the American flag.

Americaines:

Americaines, can be summarized, with one word: immigrant. They are the immigrant Americans, the ones most people, eventually come to hate. Nobody really likes, Americaines. There is not much to say about this group, only that, most don't really like Americanistas. Americanistas, pass the American test, more than they do, despite living outside America. Americaines, don't take the time, to know you, or deal with you. They won't help you out, or lend you their stuff. With time, you will begin to hate America, because of them. Hilary Duff, is an Americaine. Americaine women, are not too different, from most out there. They are like French women, but without the style. French women, are better, than Americaine women. Americaines, mostly identify, with symbols of power, in America. Corporations, Football teams, the Armed forces, Hollywood stars etc.

Americanistas:

Americanistas, have been previously introduced. However, there is a segment of them, that are actually, bona fide Americans, but haven't been back to America, in years, or many generations. There are some, who identify, with this flag:

They still know about America, and have every intention of returning, but haven't really decided on it. Kate Beckinsale, is actually, an Americanista. Faux pas English. Materialist. Americanistas, tend to identify, with American States. They know about the States, and which is best, and which sucks, as they do have every intention, of one day returning. For most Americanistas, keeping in touch, with the States, and how Americans are living, is usually done, via the media, especially TV shows. Below, are the top five TV shows, that Americanistas, should be acquainted with, in learning about American living, in the States:

1. Fraser: Set in Washington State, is a show, that tells us more about Washington State, other than Microsoft and its former chief-of-staff, Bill Gates. They have theatre there. Fraser, Dr. Niles Crane, Daphne Moon, and Eddie, showed us, what living in Washington, was all about, other than having easy access, to Microsoft.

2. Murphy Brown: Set, probably, in NY, Murphy Brown, is a show about a TV station, that goes by the name, of FYI. Really took this show seriously, until i discovered, what FYI meant. Murphy Brown, Frank, Miles Silverberg, and of course, Eldon. Nice House and deco.

3. The Drew Carey Show: OHIO!!! Sweet my baby, sweet sweet baby; is that how the song goes? The Drew Carey show, showed us, that rural America, was actually a figment, of the imagination, of encyclopedia writers. Rural America, does not really exist. Drew, Oswald, Kate, and of course, Mimi. Had the hots for Kate, but did not really know, what she was all about. BBQ's and firecamps.

4. The Fresh Prince of Bel Air: Taught many, including 'Americans' too, what living in Bel Air, was all about. Loved this show, an inspiration really, for Libertans. Will, Carleton, Hill, Dr. Philip Banks, Ashley too, made for a memorable cast. They should have had a pet, somewhere in there; Will and Carleton, would probably have tried to sell it though. Lets not forget Jeffrey too.

5. Parker Lewis Can't Lose: Not too popular, and not known by most. High school living, and a memorable show, for those who were lucky to go, to American styled High Schools, in Africa. Parker, Mikey, Jerry, and of course, Principle Grace Musso. "Mikey, Mikey, you wanna be cool, stay in school"; one of the better episodes.

Thats about it, however, there are some shows out there, to avoid, as they make living in America, look miserable. Some mentions: Alf, Will and Grace, Everybody loves Raymond, Mad about You, and Seinfeld.

Honourable mention: Third rock from the Sun; Kate Beckinsale, would love this.
